I already have software licenses / an audio interface / a DSP card. But I need a new workstation. How does this work?
There are a few options: you send us your hardware and license codes, we install, unlock and test it for you. Or, we pre-install if we have the hardware & software/libraries ourselves, test it with our own licenses and prepare everything for you to connect your hardware yourself. Usually this is very easy, and we give you a manual and some fancy marked pictures to make sure you can't go wrong.
I am using a Mac with Mac OSX now. Is it a good idea to switch? I heard PCs are unstable and Windows is a drag, and I need to configure tons of things to get it to work for audio.
Basically, this kind of talk is based on the situation years ago. Windows 7 is a great platform, easy to use, and those configurations that need to be done are done by us once. You will never need to do them yourself. The hardest part about Windows based systems is finding and assembling good components, something most "PC" vendors are not very good at, or use cheap components to drop the price. We offer top notch hardware with workstation components only, as opposed to the consumer components used by almost all other audio "workstation" vendors. Additionally, we help you taking your first steps in the Windows world, but you will notice it is quite easy and flexible - you don't need to have hacker qualities to use it. Whether it is a good idea to switch is a very individual question. Please contact us to inform yourself on what platform is serving your needs better.
Contact us! We write setup concepts from small setups fit to your needs up to large dual 96k/48k live recording setups, including cabling requirements and grapical layouts. We offer solutions, not just workstations & software.
Yes! We offer the only certified Solid State Logic workstations as well as their own Live Recorder (a 128 track MADI recorder in 1U), for which we do the project management and QA. Additionally, we offer Vienna Symphonic Library certified workstations, which they use themselves for development and QA.
We have some further projects in the pipeline, and test all our workstations with a variety of soft- and hardware found in our beloved sound industry.
Due to the high costs and time expense involved in component R&D, we do not name any brands. However, all our workstations are based on true enterprise class workstation components, built for 24/7 operation. We exlusively use the Intel E3/E5 Xeon processors to match optimal compatibility and reliability of all invloved components. Contrary to popular belief, the use of Xeons as opposed to consumer CPUs hardly affects the price of our systems. The big difference with most other workstation vendors is the focus on absolute reliability and quality over the years to come.
So, what we been up to?
Well, we spent quite some time on the new website, as you have noticed. More focus on workstations and solutions, hopefully easier to navigate for you. Note that especially the product section under "Audio Workstations" will be filled with specific solutions in the upcoming months!
Furthermore, we NEVER stop developing our workstations and compatibility tests. A lot of R&D is invested in the 1U recorders/players, a unique device which handles up to 192 tracks in just a 1U unit.
There have been quite some new releases which put us to work!
First, Pro Tools 11 is announced, and we are working on new HDX qualified systems. Lots of new AAX plugins coming out.
Furthermore, Cubase 7 and Nuendo 6 are released and introduced a new workflow and lots of new features.
Solid State Logic has released their ADR solution, Screensound. Since we are providing and certifying the official SSL certified workstations, you can imagine we spend lots of time with this fantastic product.
We also have a few partnerships with soft- and hardware developers going on, doing lots of compatibility testing, benchmarking, qualifying and certifying complete solutions for you. Final products and partnerships will be announced here!
